The Amazing Animal Race is starting again-the race Armando's mother disappeared on. Now . . . it's Armando's turn.
- Can he finish his mother's journey-and uncover what really happened?
- Can Armando help protect endangered animals and save the Amazon rainforest?
Armando was only four when his mother joined The Amazing Animal Race, a continent-hopping dash to photograph seven endangered animals in just seventy days. But she never came home. And his father refuses to talk about it.
Eight years later, 12-year-old Armando enters the very same competition. His father thinks he's safe at his grandmother's house-but Armando has secretly joined the race with his wacky granny!
- His mission: to complete the race his mother never finished.
- His challenge: to keep his dad from finding out.
Armed with night vision goggles, bear spray, and help from his tech-savvy friend Jinny, Armando follows his mother's trail from the icy Arctic to the steamy Amazon rainforest. Using her old race journal, he searches for the endangered animals she worked to save-including polar bears, desert leopards, and a four-toed jerboa.
But he'll have to outsmart ruthless poachers, uncover a corrupt sponsor's secrets, and beat fierce rivals if he hopes to solve this family mystery and protect the animals his mother loved.
A page-turning middle-grade adventure filled with wild animals, laugh-out-loud moments, unforgettable characters, and a heartwarming family connection. Delivering action-packed wildlife conservation for kids, Armando and the Amazing Animal Race is ideal for animal lovers ages 8-12. Perfect for family and classroom read-alouds.
