After celebrated Czech composer Viktor Horák dies, paper conservator Klára Novotná is hired to help prepare his private archive for transfer.
Hidden among decades of manuscripts and correspondence, she discovers twenty-seven unsent letters-one written every winter to the same woman: Eva Maresová.
At first, Eva seems to be nothing more than a forgotten love from Viktor's past. Then Klára finds her handwriting inside the working scores of some of his most famous compositions.
Now Viktor's grandson, documentary photographer Matěj Horák, must help Klára uncover a truth that could change everything his family believes about the man who raised him.
As Prague prepares to perform Viktor's legendary Winter Concerto in his honour, the evidence begins to suggest that the masterpiece may not have been his at all.
But the truth is more complicated than theft, and the closer Klára and Matěj get to uncovering what really happened, the more their growing feelings for each other are tested by loyalty, memory, and the cost of exposing the past.
A sweeping romantic mystery about hidden love, erased authorship, and the truths people leave behind.
