إلى النجوم، قال عمر.
والآن بعد أن عرفت أنك تستطيع؟
ابتسم عمر. سأعود، وأعلّم الآخرين كيف يمشون إلى النجوم.
في قرية عين النجمة الهادئة، حيث تنام الجبال وتتحدث الريح بين الأشجار العالية، يعيش صبي له حلم أكبر من السماء. لا يتمنى عمر أن يطير أو يركب السحب. إنه يريد أن يمشي إلى النجوم على قدميه.
ينطلق عند الفجر ومعه حزمة من الشعير وحذاء من القش. يهديه صوت حجر الحكايات الناطق العتيق وهدوء عالم مليء بالسحر الخفي. في الطريق يقابل عمر أيلا يتكلم، وسلّما مصنوعا من الضوء، ويشعر بالخجل بعد سقوطه. لكنه يتسلق من جديد، ثم من جديد، لأنه يتعلم أن النجوم تكافئ من لا يستسلم.
كُتبت هذه القصة بصوت الحكايات الشعبية الخالد وإيقاع الشعر العذب. سُلَّم إلى النجوم حكاية مضيئة عن الصمود والتواضع والشجاعة. وهي مناسبة للأطفال من سن خمس سنوات فما فوق، ومؤثرة للكبار أيضا. تدعو القصة القراء إلى الإيمان بالرحلات التي تبدو مستحيلة، وترك درجات لا تُرى كي يتبعها الآخرون.
