An Appeal To The ... Bishop Of Oxford On The Divinity Of The Tract Writers delves into the heart of a significant theological debate within the Church of England. This work addresses the controversial Tracts for the Times, a series of publications that sought to revive High Church principles and traditions. Penned during a period of intense religious discussion, the appeal directly engages with the Bishop of Oxford, offering a critical examination of the tract writers' theological stance. It serves as a valuable resource for understanding the complexities of the Oxford Movement and its profound impact on Anglican theology and the broader religious landscape of 19th-century England. The book provides insights into the arguments and counter-arguments surrounding the divinity espoused by the tract writers, making it essential reading for scholars of religious history, Anglicanism, and theological controversy.
