About the Author: Bill Buckley has been an avid hiker for over 40 years and has climbed peaks in New England, the western United States, and the Canadian Rockies. He has a doctorate in environmental biology from the University of Massachusetts and currently teaches biology at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts.
