The Apology of Tertullian is a religious text written by the early Christian theologian Tertullian in the 2nd century AD. The book is a defense of Christianity against the accusations of the Roman Empire, which at the time was persecuting Christians. In the text, Tertullian argues that Christianity is not a threat to the Roman Empire and that it should be allowed to exist peacefully. He also defends the beliefs and practices of Christianity, such as the belief in one God, the resurrection of the dead, and the importance of baptism. The book is considered an important early Christian text and provides insight into the beliefs and practices of early Christianity. This edition of the book was translated into English by Reverend S. Thelwall and was first published in 1843.With English Notes And A Preface, Intended As An Introduction To The Study Of Patristical And Ecclesiastical Latinity. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
