Apology for the Order of Free Masons is a book written by M.N. that defends the principles and practices of the Freemasonry organization. The author argues that Freemasonry is a benevolent society that promotes morality, brotherhood, and charity. The book provides a historical overview of the origins and development of Freemasonry, and addresses common misconceptions and criticisms of the organization. M.N. also discusses the symbolism and rituals of Freemasonry, and how they are intended to promote personal growth and spiritual development. Overall, Apology for the Order of Free Masons offers a comprehensive defense of Freemasonry and its role in society.1855. M. N... is a member of the order. A La Haye (France). When this Apology was first written the Society of Freemasons was but beginning to be known in France, and as to some people it appeared still more strange than new, awakening in their minds suspicion and alarm, whilst others, from hostility or malice, pretended to foresee a thousand imaginary dangers in the toleration of Lodges everywhere experienced, it seemed proper to draw up a refutation of such conjectures. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
