With decades of experience working alongside children and families, Dr. ShaBazz brings both professional expertise and deep compassion to her writing. In addition to her academic work, Dr. ShaBazz is the founder of Soul Sistah Doula Services, where she supports families during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period, and mentors birth workers committed to respectful, family-centered care. She is also the author of several children's titles focused on identity, family, and resilience.
Dr. ShaBazz writes with the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported-especially during times of change. Her work bridges education, advocacy, and storytelling to create resources that nurture understanding, healing, and hope for children and the adults who care for them.
