Part One, Anointed, traces 1 Samuel: Hannah's prayer and Samuel's calling, Israel's demand for a king, Saul's rise and slow unraveling, and the long years David spent as a fugitive before ever wearing a crown. Part Two, Established, traces 2 Samuel: David's coronation, the Davidic Covenant, his devastating fall with Bathsheba, and the years of family catastrophe and costly restoration that followed.
