Animal Magnetism and Magnetic Lucid Somnambulism is a book written by Edwin Lee in 1866. The book explores the concept of animal magnetism, a term used to describe the supposed ability of one person to influence the bodily processes of another through physical touch or suggestion. Lee delves into the history of animal magnetism, tracing its origins in ancient cultures and its development in Europe during the 18th and 19th centuries. He also discusses the phenomenon of magnetic lucid somnambulism, a state of heightened consciousness that some individuals are said to enter during animal magnetism sessions. The book includes case studies and anecdotes of individuals who have experienced animal magnetism and magnetic lucid somnambulism, as well as practical advice for those interested in exploring these phenomena. Overall, Animal Magnetism and Magnetic Lucid Somnambulism provides a fascinating glimpse into the world of alternative healing and spiritual practices in the 19th century. With observations and illustrative instances of analogous phenomena occuring spontaneously; and an Appendix of corroborative and correlative observations and facts. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
