Animadversions On The Library And Catalogues Of The British Museum: A Reply To Mr. Panizzis Statement, And A Correspondence With That Officer And The Trustees is a book written by Nicolas, Harris in 1846. The book is a critical examination of the library and catalogues of the British Museum, and it is a response to a statement made by Mr. Panizzi, who was the principal librarian of the museum at the time. The book contains a series of letters exchanged between Nicolas, Harris and Mr. Panizzi, as well as other trustees of the museum, which discuss the state of the library and its catalogues. Nicolas, Harris raises concerns about the accuracy and completeness of the catalogues, as well as the accessibility of the library to the general public. He also questions the management of the library and its collections. The book provides a valuable insight into the workings of the British Museum library in the mid-19th century, and it is a useful resource for anyone interested in the history of libraries and cataloguing. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
