Through his travels, he meets Grandpa Lightning and Grandma Thunder, who explain how their booming voices protect the children of the Earth by hallowing the coming storm. He visits his creative cousins, the shape-changing clouds, who bring smiles to humans by transforming into hearts, animals, and flowers. Finally, he meets Mother Rain, who teaches him that clouds are just as vital as the sun, providing the water that all living things need to survive.
Written by Carmel Ben-Shoshan, a dedicated special education teacher, this story is inspired by her work with children and her own family. Through Anani's eyes, children will learn that every individual has a unique and essential role to play in the world. By the time Anani returns to Mrs. Sun, he has grown from a doubtful little cloud into a confident leader, ready to teach the next generation of clouds about their own importance. It is a beautiful reminder that we are all perfect just the way we are.
