America Discovered By The Welsh In 1170 A.D. is a historical book written by Benjamin Franklin Bowen and published in 1876. The book presents the theory that Welsh explorers discovered America in the 12th century, almost three hundred years before Christopher Columbus. Bowen makes a compelling case based on a variety of sources, including Welsh legends, historical records, and archaeological findings. He argues that a group of Welsh sailors led by Prince Madoc ap Owain Gwynedd landed in North America in 1170 and established a settlement there. The book provides detailed accounts of the journey and the lives of the Welsh settlers in America. Bowen also discusses the impact of this discovery on the history and culture of America, as well as the controversy surrounding the theory. Overall, America Discovered By The Welsh In 1170 A.D. is a fascinating and thought-provoking read for anyone interested in the history of America and the exploration of the New World. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
