Amazons Rising is a journey into North Africa's ancestral cosmology, revealing the forgotten lineage of the Amazigh Amazons, the memory of the Great Mother, and the map of the Garden of Hesperides.

Blending Indigenous, decolonial, and creative methodologies - including genealogy, Archaeomythology, material culture, autoethnography, goddess studies, and lived pilgrimage - the book offers restored Indigenous North African knowledge, reconnects with land and spirit, and envisions new futures.

For centuries, the history of North Africa has been written without its people. The Amazigh queens, priestesses, healers, and warriors were erased from the archives, cast as monsters, or reduced to docile daughters and angry wives in Greek mythology. Their symbols were appropriated, and their ceremonies were absorbed into folklore. In this book, the author presents a coherent North African cosmology and delves deeper to explain the origins of the Amazons and their belief system.

This book challenges what you know about Aphrodite, Medusa, Circe, and Medea, whose origins were displaced or rewritten. It presents the Garden of the Hesperides - long displaced to Spain, Crete, or myth - as a constellation of North African sacred sites, guarded by ancient queens, and traces their lineage. It demonstrates how recent queens and leaders, such as Tin Hinan, Kahena, Fatma N'Soumer, and Lalla N'Soumer, embody this long lineage of warrior women and priestesses, and summons modern Amazons to awaken and reclaim their place in the world to defend the sacred, now and in the future.

This book is written for those who feel the call of the Ancient Queens of Old and their descendants, the Amazons. It is an act of memory restoration, a re-centering of indigenous women's knowledge, a re-mapping of sacred landscape and geography, and, finally, a reawakening of the Amazon lineage.
