Description: In this beautiful story, six-year-old Aaliyah starts her first day of school bursting with excitement in anticipation of the new friends she's going to make and all the new things she will learn. Her joy is cut short by Jose-a young man who teases her about her skin color after she beats him in a game of tag. While the thought of something being wrong with how she looks had never crossed her mind before that moment, his comments heartbreakingly make her doubt herself and her beauty. When her family decides it's time for the talk, her parents teach her to embrace her beauty and stand up to bullies. This story makes an excellent bedtime story as well as a conversation starter. It will help you discuss tough topics with your children and is a must-read for any household. Aaliyah's grace and wonderful heart teach a valuable lesson about being a good person in the face of being wronged. While not letting someone else's view tear her down. Add this delightful book to your child's collection today!
