Also Ran is a novel written by Mrs. Baillie Reynolds and published in 1920. The story revolves around the life of a young woman named Marjorie, who is forced to marry a man she does not love due to family pressure. The marriage turns out to be a disaster, and Marjorie finds herself trapped in a loveless relationship. She meets a man named Hugh, who is everything her husband is not: kind, understanding, and passionate. Marjorie falls in love with Hugh, but she is torn between her duty as a wife and her desire for happiness. Meanwhile, her husband becomes increasingly abusive, and Marjorie's life becomes a living hell. The novel explores themes of love, duty, and the consequences of making the wrong choices. It is a compelling story that will keep readers engaged until the very end. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
