An Alabaster Box: The Life Story Of Grace E. Barnes is a biographical book written by Helen Isabel Root. The book explores the life of Grace E. Barnes, a remarkable woman who lived in the early 20th century. Grace was a devout Christian who dedicated her life to serving others, especially those in need. She was a nurse, a teacher, and a missionary who traveled the world to spread the word of God. The book chronicles Grace's journey from her childhood in rural America to her international travels and her work with various organizations. It also delves into her personal life, including her marriage and her struggles with health issues. The title of the book is a reference to a story in the Bible, in which a woman anoints Jesus with expensive perfume from an alabaster box, symbolizing the idea of giving one's best to God. Overall, An Alabaster Box is a fascinating and inspiring read about a woman who lived a life of service and devotion to her faith. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
