Wow...Honestly, I don't read a lot of poetry and didn't think I would like it. However, I loved it; it sucked me right in and I thought it was beautifully done.
Based on primary documents--letters and interviews--and stitched together with memories and photographs, Airmail: A Story of War in Poems is a genre-bending story of one family's relationship to war. It is a book about going off to war, a book about coming back home, and a book about those who are left behind.
