Dialogues and worked situations make the ideas concrete before technical language is introduced.
Mathematics is used only when it helps you see a decision more clearly. Thresholds explain when behavior should change. Rates show whether actions are succeeding. Weighted trade-offs make priorities visible. Simple progress measures help separate real movement from busy activity. The numbers are explained from their purpose first, so readers can understand what a calculation means before worrying about notation.
The later sections ask the questions that matter once an agent becomes capable: What should it remember? Which evidence is strong enough to continue? How should it repair a failure? What should remain outside its authority? When is a reversible step wiser than a commitment? When should human approval become part of the design rather than an afterthought?
