The Aged Pastor is a biographical sketch of Reverend H. Field, a minister of the Congregational Church in Blandford. Authored by Richard Keynes, this volume offers insights into Field's life, ministry, and enduring impact on his community. Included is Field's funeral sermon, providing a glimpse into the theological perspectives of the time, and an appendix containing Reverend M. Blake's account of the devastating fire that consumed the town of Blandford.
This book serves as both a biographical tribute and a historical record, capturing the essence of 18th-century religious life and the challenges faced by communities in times of crisis. It offers valuable perspectives for those interested in religious history, pastoral studies, and the social history of England.
