The Age of Unreason is a book written by Henry Athanasius Brann in 1881. It is a response to the works of several American rationalists, including Thomas Paine, Robert Ingersoll, Felix Adler, and O.B. Frothingham. Brann argues against the rationalist movement, stating that it is leading society towards a lack of faith and morality. He asserts that reason alone cannot provide a complete understanding of the world and that religion and faith are necessary for a meaningful existence. Brann's book is a defense of traditional religious beliefs and a critique of the growing secular movement in America during the late 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
