Africa And The American Negro: Addresses And Proceedings Of The Congress On Africa is a book written by J.W.E. Bowen. The book is a compilation of speeches and discussions that took place during the Congress on Africa. The Congress was held in 1895 in Atlanta, Georgia, and was attended by prominent African American leaders and scholars. The purpose of the Congress was to discuss the relationship between Africa and African Americans, and to promote trade and commerce between the two groups. The book includes speeches by Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, and other notable figures, as well as discussions on topics such as the history of Africa, the African American experience, and the potential for economic development in Africa. Overall, Africa And The American Negro provides a fascinating insight into the intellectual and political climate of the late 19th century, and the efforts of African American leaders to promote social and economic progress for their community. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
