Sailor and Charlie have been living with their Nana Beverly while their family finds a new rhythm-but this summer is about to become anything but ordinary.
Life at Nana's house is usually steady: sunflowers, porch steps, and predictable routines. Sailor tries hard to be the easy one in the family-a classic glass child-while Charlie faces each day with unstoppable determination and a wheelchair that carries more courage than wheels.
Then one afternoon, Nana reveals something extraordinary:
a hidden treasure map left behind by their adventurous relatives.
Suddenly, the backyard they thought they knew becomes a world of clues, riddles, and magical possibility. Together with their energetic best friends-twins May and Georgie-Sailor and Charlie dive into a quest that sparks bravery, imagination, and unexpected joy.
Heartfelt, funny, and full of mystery, this chapter book celebrates emotional resilience, inclusive adventure, and the special magic that appears when kids are given the chance to shine.
Themes include friendship, summer adventure, treasure hunts, glass child dynamics, disability representation, healing, family connection, and the power of imagination.
