This is a reproduction of Address to the Rhode-Island Society for the Encouragement of Domestick Industry, delivered in 1822 by Tristam Burges. The address offers a fascinating glimpse into the economic and political thought of the early 19th century, specifically concerning the promotion of domestic industry within the United States. Burges's speech champions local production and the importance of fostering economic independence. This pamphlet provides valuable insight into the historical context of industrial development in America and the debates surrounding economic policy during this formative period. Scholars of economic history, Rhode Island history, and early American politics will find this a vital resource.
