Since 17 January 2012, Mali has been facing a serious security, humanitarian and political crisis following the conflict in the northern two-thirds of the country. The violence, looting and resulting chaos have triggered movements of refugees and internally displaced persons throughout this area. There is a lack of information on the impact of the crises and the displacement of people on the target populations in terms of AEPHA in Commune VI of the Bamako District. Consequently, a CVI assessment of the AEPHA situation of these people - both within host families and amongst the displaced - is crucial in order to identify their most pressing needs and respond to them swiftly. Locations: 10 neighbourhoods were surveyed in Commune VI of the Bamako District: Banankabougou, Dianéguela, Faladiè, Magnanbougou, Missabougou, Niamakoro, Sénou, Sogoniko, Sokorodji and Yirimadio. Results: Number of host families: 265; Number of people in host families: 1,784; Number of displaced families: 274; Number of people in displaced families: 1,874; The majority of displaced people come from the Gao region (54 per cent of families), etc.
