Seniors intending to visit Acadia should in no way feel that they will miss out on what this famed Park has to offer. Much of Acadia, and certainly most of the iconic spots, can be enjoyed by seniors without the need for too much exertion or athleticism. That you need to hike in order to appreciate Acadia is a nasty myth. While it is indeed the case that Acadia does have some exhilarating hikes, hiking is not mandatory. Some of Acadia's best-known landmarks, e.g., Ocean Drive, the summit of Cadillac Mountain, the lakefronts, Sand Beach, the Sieur de Monts complex, and, of course, the Rockefeller Carriage Roads, are not meant to be hiked. They need to be ambled. This book will show you how to get the most from your trip to Acadia without the need to hike. It will even get you to places, e.g., summit of Great Head or around Jordan Pond, deftly bypassing the difficult stretches that require resorting to hiking. The author, a senior, is a dedicated, daily ambler. He has been visiting Acadia, typically multiple times a year, for multiple days at a time, since 2013. Over the last three years he spent at least 20 days ambling Acadia to make sure that he does not mislead you in terms of what can and cannot (or shouldn't) be ambled. And given that this is his third book on Acadia, it wasn't as if he was starting from scratch. He tells you, colloquially, the way it is. With this book you will know where you stand when it comes to Acadia as well as other options close to the Park.
