An epic archaeological mystery set in southern Utah. The main characters are a husband and wife team who discover messages from the past directed to them. These messages lead to them discovering enormous riches allowing them to establish an Institute dedicated to uncovering secrets from the past. They meet an old Anasazi Indian who reveals to them that he has the recorded history of his people stretching back for 15,000 years on a series of carved totems. Twenty six years later their two sons along with a blonde Norwegian girl and a troubled Anasazi youth mysteriously disappear when they are catapulted back 15,000 years in time through a weather anomaly. The parents launch a decade long search trying to find out what happened to their lost children. During an archaeological dig in Southern Arizona they uncover evidence of an advanced ancient civilization that could not have possible existed and then make an even more earthshaking discovery that forces them to consider the possibility of time travel. Their children and the Norwegian anthropologist find themselves assimilating into an ancient tribe and are faced with the moral struggles of how much technology to reveal, and would it impact the cultural development of these primitive people. Conflict develops with the troubled Anasazi youth who rebels against the tribe and takes a group of young followers with him. Unbounded by the moral constraints of the others he has no concerns about using his twentieth century knowledge to obtain the power he desires to become a King and he has a Winchester 30-30 rifle. The story follows the adventures and lives of the three distinct groups of people as each pursues their own quests. Finally the parents discover the truth about what happened. Circumstances bring conflict between the sons and the Anasazi youth that lead to an unexpected conclusion. It is a wide ranging story of love, tragedy, sex, adventure, mystery, addiction and betrayal. Along the way the reader will learn about ancient mythologies and cultures and be forced to consider that possibly ancient peoples were no different than ourselves.
