A man in his sixties visits his daughter in London, with his wife, to tour the sights of the city. He inexplicably gains magnificent powers to heal people. Over a period of few days, he heals dozens of people across the city of their ailments, illnesses, maladies and injuries, before returning home to New England. A reporter from the leading London newspaper hears stories about dozens of people who are healed. Rumors abound that it is a man who claims to be a former King. She wants to be the first to break this landmark and historic story. She embarks on an investigative mission to find the person behind the healings. Young and old, rich and poor, famous and common, she finds the healed persons one by one, using her sharp investigative skills and network of relationships. An unlikely partner joins her in her quest, the Queen of England. Along the way she finds that people close to her were among those healed, including her former boyfriend, as well as a woman who was her college teammate and best friend. Together she and the Queen seek to find the King and bring him back to London, both for different reasons that they keep to themselves. Lurking in the background are the legends of the first English King, and his sword, and the legend of an ancient continent and its people and technologies. The Tale ends in a flourish, with secrets revealed about Treasures and ancient history, the identity of the King, and his personal journey, and the birth of a new person, who could hold the key to solving many of earth's and life's mysteries.
