A Darker Fleece

Grimshaw Grove, Indiana, is the kind of place where the pace is slow and steady, but the soil holds secrets only the cornfields know. For Clay Fields it's home. His farm is his life, his safe space from a world in constant turmoil. He knows every inch of his farmland, every fence post, every neighbor. He even knows the shadows that pass under each moon. But when Clay returns from a brief absence, his safety and peace are shattered. His thriving livestock have all been killed and mutated in a horrid manner. The farmyard reeks of blood and death. The silence is no longer peaceful-- it's menacing.

At first, he and longtime family friend and Grimshaw Grove Sheriff, Beau Thorne, chalk it up to a wild animal attack. But then the killings begin and they aren't confined to farmyards. Bodies turn up in grotesque states, torn and twisted in a way that no natural predator could manage.

As night falls each night Grimshaw Grove itself transforms. The air carries a fear in it. The woods and fields pulse with movement. Whatever is stalking the town isn't hunting. It's feeding. It moves like an animal but is not one. With each moonrise the line between reality and nightmares come to life.

This is a horror book and as such contains disturbing scenes including sexual violence.
