A Comprehensive View of Freemasonry by Henry Wilson Coil is a detailed and informative book that explores the history, beliefs, practices, and symbolism of Freemasonry. The author, who was a prominent Masonic scholar and historian, provides a comprehensive overview of the organization and its various branches, including the Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite, York Rite, and Shriner's Order. The book begins by tracing the origins of Freemasonry back to its roots in medieval stonemasonry guilds and the Enlightenment era, and then delves into the various degrees and rituals that make up the Masonic tradition. Coil also examines the role of women and minorities in Freemasonry, as well as the organization's relationship with religion and politics.Throughout the book, Coil provides detailed explanations of the symbolism and allegory used in Masonic rituals and ceremonies, as well as the meanings behind Masonic symbols such as the square and compass, the apron, and the trowel. He also explores the role of Masonry in the development of Western civilization, including its influence on the founding fathers of the United States.Overall, A Comprehensive View of Freemasonry is an essential resource for anyone interested in learning more about this fascinating and often misunderstood organization. Whether you're a Mason yourself or simply curious about the history and beliefs of this ancient fraternity, this book provides a wealth of information and insight into the world of Freemasonry. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
