Elke Porter is bring you her version of Who's Who with this book of 75 Influential German-Speakers in Western Canada.Thousands of Austrians, Germans and Swiss were success stories in a variety of industries over the past 100 years. Some of them sold food & drink. Some of them founded real estate empires. Some of them contributed generously to the lives of their fellow immigrants from Austria, Germany or Switzerland. One of them renovated his house to look like a fairy tale castle. There were artists, entrepreneurs, leaders, musicians, pastors, philanthropists, property developers, singers, writers and volunteers. This book is just the beginning. There were many others who were famous and well-known, but it was impossible to find information on them. If you know of someone who should have been mentioned in this book, and you have information on them, please get in touch with the author. If you have any pictures, memories or stories to share of places that once existed and no longer do, or people who contributed to Vancouver, BC or Western Canada, contact author Elke Porter.
