In the following pages, colonial conquest is explained by taking into account the specific case of Italian colonization of Libya while the decolonization is shown through three examples: Algeria, Syria and Iraq.
In conclusion, the author focuses on the European post war context for understanding success and limits of the integration process. However, new challenges seem to threaten stability.
