Sunday the 4th of September, I make my way to the beach and set up my camera. I wait. Sunrise is only a few minutes away. I am alone, standing here looking towards the point where sea and sky are one; the rest of the shoreline is completely deserted. It is truly a moment of complete calm and peace. Not a sound to be heard, save that of the sea and the occasional gull, the wind and my own breath. Then all seems to pause as the first arc of the sun crests the horizon, gracefully making its grand entrance into the morning sky. Great artists and their works have been admired throughout history. Michelangelo and the Sistine Chapel, Leonardo and the Mona Lisa to name but two. Yet none can equal the awe inspiring majesty of our sun rising into a new day, an enduring gift from the greatest artist of all.
