The Five Frankforters is a comedic play written by Carl Roessler and originally published in 1913. The play is set in Frankfurt, Germany and follows the story of five friends who are struggling to make ends meet. The main characters are a group of artists and writers who are all trying to make a name for themselves in the creative world. The play is divided into three acts, with each act focusing on a different aspect of the characters' lives. In the first act, the friends are trying to find a way to pay their rent and avoid eviction. In the second act, they are trying to impress a wealthy patron who could potentially fund their artistic endeavors. And in the final act, they are dealing with the aftermath of a party gone wrong.Throughout the play, the characters engage in witty banter and humorous situations, while also exploring themes of friendship, ambition, and the struggles of the artistic life. The Five Frankforters is a lighthearted and entertaining play that provides insight into the bohemian lifestyle of early 20th century Germany. With A Preface By The Translators Concerning The Jews Of Frankfort. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
