Forty Years Among The Indians: A Descriptive History Of The Long And Busy Life Of Jeremiah Hubbard is a memoir written by Jeremiah Hubbard himself. The book provides a detailed account of his life and experiences among the Native American tribes during the 19th century. Hubbard was a Christian missionary who spent forty years of his life living among various tribes of the Great Plains, including the Osage, Pawnee, and Kiowa. The book describes his interactions with the Native Americans, his efforts to convert them to Christianity, and his struggles to adapt to their way of life. Hubbard also shares his observations on the culture, traditions, and beliefs of the Native Americans. The book is a fascinating account of the challenges and rewards of living among a vastly different culture and provides a unique perspective on the history of the American West. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
