30 is a thriller that utilizes myths regarding religious artifacts to tell an engaging story about human failings. The story includes historical elements and investigation, and the budding relationship between Brady and Richard provides emotional connections. As an LGBTQ+ writer, I feel it is important for this particular genre to gain more inclusive characters and storylines.
Sheriff Brady Edwards moved to a small town in Virginia to get away from the stress of city life. When a series of mysterious deaths hits his small town, and he connects the deaths to ancient coins found at the scenes, he enlists the help of Professor Richard Stanley. The two embark on a quest to find thirty cursed coins; however, their progress is hampered by two mysterious gray men, who turn out to be cursed themselves and are working to get the coins into a larger circulation for their own purposes.
