Three Days is a historical novel written by Rose Macaulay and published in 1852. The story is set in Paris in 1830 during the July Revolution, which overthrew King Charles X and brought Louis Philippe to power. The novel follows the lives of three characters: a young Englishwoman named Lady Georgiana, a French aristocrat named Countess de Flavigny, and a young lawyer named Philippe de Morvelle. As the revolution unfolds, the lives of these three characters become intertwined. Lady Georgiana, who is visiting Paris with her father, becomes involved in the revolution after meeting Philippe, who is a leader of the movement. Countess de Flavigny, who is also sympathetic to the revolution, becomes embroiled in a dangerous love affair with Philippe. Through the eyes of these three characters, Macaulay explores the political and social upheaval of the time, as well as the personal struggles and relationships that are affected by it. The novel is a vivid portrayal of a pivotal moment in French history and a compelling story of love, loyalty, and political change. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
