During, and leading up to, the Bicentennial, Jeremy is assigned such diverse tasks as tracking a cell of passport counterfeiters to keeping an eye on a group of vandals determined to blow the festivities sky high. Are the two cells connected? Jeremy might only determine this through cozying up to an Italian political refugee, Stefania-an expat like himself, only not of her choosing. She leads Jeremy on a chase through Paris whose end he could never have guessed.

About the author: Lisa Mortara is a former language and history teacher. She splits her time between the U.S., the UK and continental Europe. Her first novel is In the Shadow of the Eiffel Tower.
