Our story follows Rivan Korr, a 27-year-old Synth-Judge assigned to arbitrate data conflicts between human nodes. He's a model citizen-efficient, compliant, unemotional. But beneath his placid surface lies a fracture, an error line in his code that should not exist. He begins to hear things, see flashes in sleep-state, feel-truly feel-in a world that no longer allows it.
One night, he dreams.
