Reading or being read to should be fun, and this wonderful book with its fun alliteration certainly fits the bill. One Old Ox Opening Oysters: A Fun Tongue-Twister Book for Children provides a light-hearted challenge for children of all ages. Enjoy Three tame tigers taking tea together, or Six Scottish soldiers singing Scottish songs, or maybe Ten tired tinkers tenderly tinkering tinder tins. There will be fun and laughter as individual children or classes try to pronounce all the words of the tongue twisters out loud. The Imaginary characters have been in the memory of the author since childhood and have been brought to life by the talented New Zealand artist Alysha Heyrick. Paula Colette Bayley is a retired registered nurse who worked in the health field for many years. This involved principally preschool, school, and family health, and she loved the work. She was born in Manchester, England, and moved to Lytham St. Annes, England, emigrating in 1970 to New Zealand with her husband, John, and their four children. Now eighty years of age, she felt she needed to publish a book of fun alliteration to twist the tongues of children worldwide. She is sure that they, along with their parents and teachers, will enjoy the challenge. The author now lives in Blenheim, New Zealand, and this is her first book.
