One-Eye's journey: a story about doubt and seeing

Orin has always seen the world a little differently.

With only one eye, he has learned to look carefully - at the path beneath his feet, at the fences he mends, at the small details most others pass by. And yet, no matter how closely he looks, something never quite feels certain.

When the sun rises, he wonders if it rose the right way. When someone waves, he wonders if they meant it. When everything appears clear, a quiet voice still asks: Are you sure?

Convinced that his missing eye holds the answer, Orin leaves his valley in search of what was lost.

But the world he travels through does not behave the way he expects. And maybe begins to matter more than what is right in front of him.

Along the way, Orin meets companions who see the world in very different ways - some who move easily with what is there, and others who follow what could be. Between them, Orin begins to notice something he had not seen before.

A modern fable for readers approximately ages 7-13, One-Eye's Journey can be read and loved purely as a story. For families navigating worry, doubt, or OCD, it also gently illustrates how doubt takes hold - and how it loosens - drawing on Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT). A companion workbook, written to be used alongside the novel, is also available.
