Where scholars genuinely hold differing views, the book explains why those disagreements exist and why they reflect a living legal tradition rather than a crisis.
It also refuses the false divide between ritual devotion and daily conduct. Prayer and fasting carry no more weight here than how you price an invoice, what you owe your neighbor, or how you speak to your parents on an exhausting evening. A person who prays five times daily while defrauding a business partner has misunderstood the prayer entirely.
