Three brothers. One bloodline. Two countries at war.
Danzig, 1918. As World War I draws to its bitter close, three infant brothers are quietly torn apart - separated before memory can take hold. Two are raised English. One remains German.
Neither side ever learns the truth.
Twenty years later, the drums of a second, darker war begin to sound. Three men - shaped by different languages, different loyalties, different gods - are pulled toward a battlefield that could put them on opposite sides of the same gun.
They don't know they're brothers. But blood doesn't forget.
As nations demand loyalty and war demands choosing sides, one question grows impossible to ignore: is loyalty to a flag stronger than the bond none of them can name?
And when the smoke finally clears - will there be anything left worth finding?
ONE BLOOD is a sweeping historical novel about identity, belonging, and the one question no war can answer: can the same blood run through enemies?
Perfect for readers of All the Light We Cannot See, The Nightingale, and The Tattooist of Auschwitz - a story that asks what war really costs the people history sorts into the wrong places at the wrong time.

About the Author
John Jones spent years researching the human cost of World War II - not the battles, but the lives quietly rearranged by them. He lives and writes in the East Riding of Yorkshire, within sight of the North Sea that once separated Britain from its enemies - and its trading partners. That complicated proximity never left him. One Blood is his debut novel.
