Wheat That Springeth Green

Powers provides a marvelous portrait of Father Joe Hackett, an alcoholic, middle-aged pastor. Hackett's realization that he is now one of the old boys he once held in contempt--concerned mainly with bourbon, baseball and furniture--leads to a belated and difficult road to change.
