Über Die Heimat Pseudoisidors ..., written by Georg Lurz, delves into the origins of the Pseudoisidorian Decretals, a collection of forged canon law texts that significantly influenced the medieval Church and legal system. This historical study examines the provenance and impact of these forgeries, which purported to be ancient papal decrees and councils, but were in fact fabricated to support ecclesiastical reforms and papal authority. Lurz's work offers valuable insights into the complex interplay of law, religion, and politics in the medieval period, shedding light on the motivations behind the creation and dissemination of these influential forgeries.
