Spice Tour and Book Talk with Mish Sen
Thursday, November 18, 7:00 PM
In-Store Event - Registration Required
Join food blogger Mish Sen (@eatswithmish) for a tour of the essential spices in the Indian Kitchen! Attendees will also be entered into a chance to win a spice tin with 5 essential spices!
In her debut book Indian Kitchen Secrets: 52 Easy-to-make Indian Recipes for Beginners, teacher-turned food blogger Mish Sen paves the way for new cooks to feel empowered in the kitchen when adding Indian cuisine to their repertoire.
After hearing the feedback from the thousands of followers of her popular Instagram food diary @eatswithmish, which taught step-by-step restaurant favorites such as Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer, Mango Lassi, and Chai, (also included in the book), she recognized the need for a comprehensive beginner cookbook. With her expert guidance and step- by-step instructions, cooks of all skill levels will blossom into becoming fearless creators of Indian delicacies.
In this cookbook, Mish has curated her recipes carefully and provides support through crystal clear instructions, thereby making them extremely accessible!
Join us for a fun, interactive event and pick up this cookbook—a great gift idea for the holidays!
Mish Sen is a teacher turned digital marketer turned food blogger. She’s the creator of @eatswithmish on Instagram, where she posts easy, healthy, and tasty (mostly) Indian recipes.
Mish has been living in the US for over 20 years now. Working full time, she didn’t have a lot of extra time to cook laborious Indian meals. She developed her recipes to be nutritious, delicious, and simple enough so that anyone can cook them. In the course of her cooking journey, Mish realized that many Indian dishes could be simplified without losing their taste or authenticity.
Mish is on a mission to make Indian food accessible to everyone – without ‘The Overwhelm’ and without guesswork. She offers Indian cooking lessons for the Eden Prairie Community Education Center. She also teaches one-on-one as well as in small groups (either in-person or via Zoom) and has hosted several online Indian cooking shows.
A note about in person events:
We are very excited to bring authors and readers back together in our space, and we know you are too!
As we all navigate the transition back to congregating in person, we ask that you use honesty, care, and understanding in interacting with fellow event-goers, staff, and authors.
Please note that Magers & Quinn will always comply with current city and state regulations, and reserves the right to change the below policies at any time. These are guidelines only, and if you have questions about the most up to date information, you can always call us at 612-822-4611.
For information about how our in-person events will work over the coming months, please read on:
Q: Are masks required?
A: Face masks are not currently required in our building, but some events may require masks be worn in the event area/signing line at the authors’ request. Registered customers will receive information about the specific event’s mask policy the week of the event.
For the health and safety of others, in accordance with current recommendations and scientific findings, Magers & Quinn strongly encourages all customers wear a mask, especially if not fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Q: Are in store events free?
A: Yes, Magers & Quinn events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
Q: Do I need to RSVP?
A: Yes, please. Each event will now include a registration link.
As we navigate this step back to in-person events, we will be limiting event capacity to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all attendees and authors. By requiring pre-registration, we can easily communicate event updates and policies with those who plan to attend, and can contact attendees after the event with follow-up information.
We strongly suggest registering via the Eventbrite link provided on our website, but if you are unable to sign up online, please call or visit the bookstore and register with a bookseller.
We may or may not be able to accommodate unregistered walk-ins, and seating priority will always be given to registered customers. We appreciate your understanding of this new process!
