Die Autorin geht mit einer umfassenden Analyse der 'formula Octaviana' bei Cicero dem Ursprung der 'actio quod metus causa' im gewaltgepragten Kontext der spaten Republik auf den Grund und untersucht die Entwicklung dieser besonderen Klage, die im Spannungsfeld zwischen der Notwendigkeit der Bestrafung des Taters und dem Bedurfnis der Schadenswiedergutmachung beim Opfer stand.
