8vo, 209 pages. Full bound green cloth with gilt titles and decoration on front board and spine. Illustrations throughout. Boards are dust soiled with some shelfwear, especially on spine. Head of spine has 2 small tears in cloth. Previous owner's name in ink on front free end paper. Binding is solid and text is clean throughout. A very nice copy of the first American edition.
8vos. Full bound in dark blue with gilt titling. Bindings gently shaken but firmly attached. Interiors slightly darkened but clean, with no markings. Mild tinting on frontispiece and title page of Book One from a clipping of a 1960 New York Times Book Review. cloth is mildly bumped to ends/tips with minimal wear.
"1790, 16mo. 37 volumes. All volumes full bound in contemporary leather. 18 of the volumes were bound by a different binder, 6 3/8 tall versus 6 tall on the other 19 volumes. All the volumes have decorative gilt and spine lables on spines, some of the labels have chipped away and although the gilt has darkened with age it is still legible on most vols. The 18 volumes were bound in a tree leather and are brittle, esp on hinges. All hinges are holding and bindings are intact. Photos and more detailed description available upon request.
