1903, 4to, 319 pgs + index. First edition. Full bound green cloth with gilt decoration on front and back boards. Text includes numerous illustration and photograph plates illustrating the history of horse and buggy carriages. Title pg printed in black and red. Front and back hinges starting to crack. Light dust soil on front endpaper and first few pgs of text, rest of text clean with the occasional finger smudge. Gilt on top edge block lightly rubbed, as are the boards, otherwise gilt still legible. Corners and spine ends lightly frayed, light edgewear to boards. Otherwise a very good copy of this interesting piece of transportaion histoy.
