First Edition. First American Edition, Part 1. 8vo, 464pgs. Full bound in brown leather with four raised bands gilt accents, black leather title label and gilt stamped titling on the spine. Front joint and hinge are started but board is still attached, barely started on head of rear joint. Book has wear and rubbing to leather on spine and spine ends as well as board extremities. Dust soiling to text block. A couple spots of damp staining to endpapers and interior pages are foxed throughout else pages are bright and clean.
